Summary

CPEX assisted four adjacent neighborhoods—Bernard Terrace, Capital Heights, Valley Park, and Webb Park—in Mid City Baton Rouge in developing a plan to address traffic calming, bicycle and pedestrian connectivity, safety, and access between and within their neighborhoods.

The planning process included robust community engagement, centered around a weekend-long demonstration of full-scale street improvements for users to experience firsthand.

Outcome

The resulting Street Smart plan is both a resource and an action plan for residents of these neighborhoods. It combines public input, creative and cost-effective designs for street improvements, and an implementation road map into a concise plan for residents to execute their vision for their neighborhoods.
