Summary

Complete Streets Policy Manual:
Louisiana’s Department of Transportation and Development adopted a Complete Streets policy in 2010, which has been ranked the second strongest policy in the nation by the National Complete Streets Coalition. The Complete Streets Policy Manual is a free resource outlining the steps to policy adoption and featuring a step-by-step look at the New Orleans policy process. Elected and appointed officials, as well advocacy groups, interested in adopting Complete Streets policies on the local level are encouraged to download this manual to learn more about how to adopt Complete Streets legislation.

CONNECT Coalition:
The CONNECT coalition (2011–2015) worked to advance a multi-modal transportation network of passenger rail, transit, complete streets, and transportation planning. The Coalition advocated for improved access to affordable homes, job centers, and equitable economic opportunity.

STAC:
The Baton Rouge Sustainable Transportation Action Committee (STAC) is a joint initiative between CPEX and AARP Louisiana, established in 2012 as a coalition of local volunteer partners engaged in making Baton Rouge streets safer and more accessible. Baton Rouge’s Complete Streets Policy was adopted in 2014, and the group championed passage of a follow-up ordinance that was passed in 2015, creating the Complete Streets Advisory Committee that was called for in the policy.
