Summary

CPEX led the development of the St. Charles Parish 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update, serving as the lead consultant and effectively managing the collaborative efforts of various sub-consultants involved in the planning process.

Throughout the planning stages, CPEX conducted extensive interviews with key parish department heads and other key stakeholders. This engagement provided valuable insights into existing conditions, challenges, and opportunities within the parish. Stakeholder meetings, including the engagement of planning commissioners, council members, Parish staff, business and industry leaders, and civic representatives, facilitated a diverse range of perspectives, contributing to a well-rounded and community-driven plan.

From the qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, CPEX and the team crafted implementable strategic actions to advance the parish toward achieving the goals voiced through the community engagement process.

Outcome

The finalized plan, adopted by the Planning Commission in November 2022, represented a comprehensive guide for the future growth of St. Charles Parish. This update, reflecting major changes since the 2011 Comprehensive Plan, addresses natural disasters, and incorporates new federal and state programs. CPEX’s meticulous approach involved assessing past actions, conducting analyses, and engaging the public through meetings and surveys to ensure that the plan aligns with the evolving needs and aspirations of the community.
